About Us

Teen Challenge WA Foundation Board was founded in 1997, under the direction of Chairman Alf Binks, with the sole purpose of raising funds to assist the excellent work of the Adult and Teen Challenge rehabilitation program.

The primary goal of the Teen Challenge Foundation Board is to oversee and manage the fund. Our Board of Directors are carefully selected based on their qualifications and experience.  They uphold the Adult and Teen Challenge philosophy and are concerned with the needs of WA adults and youth overcoming addiction and other life-controlling issues.

We pay respect and gratitude to our Founding Board Members including Chairman, Alf Binks, a former senior executive at TVW7, Stan Perron (Perron Group). Peter Ferrall (Beds Plus), Barry Court (then President of the Pastoralists and Graziers Association) Kari Rummukainen (Broad Constructions), Adam Davey (Canaccord Financial).

Adult & Teen Challenge Western Australia Inc is a not for profit organisation providing rehabilitation services, support and education to meet the needs of young people and families experiencing drug and alcohol related problems. Adult & Teen Challenge WA Foundation was established in 1997 with the sole aim to raise funds by partnering with the business community to support the drug and alcohol rehabilitation work of the Adult & Teen Challenge WA program in Esperance. 26 years on and through collective expertise of our Board and supporters, Adult and Teen Challenge WA Foundation has raised millions of dollars and has a substantial capital base which ensures the program's longevity for the generations to come.

Adult and Teen Challenge WA is a part of the Global Teen Challenge Program, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping people of all ages across the globe in breaking free from life-controlling problems.

Since its inception in 1958 in America, Teen Challenge has been at the forefront leading the way in rehabilitation. In 1995, Teen Challenge expanded and went global, and is today has 1,400+ programs in 129 nations across the world.

Adam Davey

  • Mr Davey's expertise spans over 35  years it the Financial services and stockbroking industry. Including holding the positions of Chairman/Managing Director/Director of a number of companies in this sector.

    and includes capital raising (both private and public), portfolio management, mergers and acquisition, ASX listings, and advising on asset sales.

Jade Lewis

Member

  • Jade Lewis is a best-selling, award winning author and speaker and dedicates her to life to building drug free people and communities. She founded the not-for-profit organisation Yellow Ribbon Project Australia in 2009 which is designed to give female and children prisoners a second chance at life. Jade is the author of Golden Haze – Jade’s Story and Under YOUR Influence. She is a frequent speaker at Churches, conferences, schools across Australia and consults government and sporting agencies. She has won many awards for her achievements including Winner of Business News 40 Under 40 Community Services, Pride of Australia for Community Services and has been inducted into the WA Women's Hall of Fame. Jade and married to Tristan and together they have 3 children.

Nick Wood

  • Nick is an experienced senior executive with significant expertise in leadership, finance, business development, and strategic management with medium to large organisations within the medical research, health services, aged care, disability services, community services, and government sectors. His passion is to see organisations thrive through continuous business improvement and transformation, leading to high performance, innovation, and sustainable growth while maintaining an unwavering commitment to mission and core values. Nick is married to Anna and they have five children. He is an active member of Lake Gwelup Christian Church, a Board Member of Adult and Teen Challenge WA, and a Member of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee of Leadership Western Australia."

Carolyn Hall

Member

  • As founder of brand strategy collective City Hall, Carolyn’s 30 years of strategic business, brand and communications experience cover a wide diversity of business disciplines from facilitation at the board level to developing brand strategies for international companies across the globe.

    Living abroad in London and New York for 20 years, Carolyn worked directly with numerous Fortune 500 business leaders to translate their strategies into effective, executable marketing programs. Clients she has worked with include Microsoft, Nikon, L’Oreal and MasterCard as Executive Vice President at McCann Erickson.

    In Australia, she has been responsible for the evolution, repositioning, development and launch of some of the Nation’s top companies including The Perth Mint, Mirvac, Curtin University, Brightwater Group, CSBP Fertilisers, Rio Tinto, Roy Hill and Steel Blue to name a few.

Mark Leonhardt

Board Member - Treasurer 

  • Mark is passionate about challenging the status quo, his interest in different cultures and passion for travel led his career overseas where he spent many years working for Multinational corporations in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East before returning to Australia with his Family in 2012. Mark has a degree in IT & Finance and has held numerous Executive Leadership roles across a diverse range of industries and portfolios in the IT Sector. Mark is a highly experienced leader who is currently a Director at DXC Technology.

Steve Hall

Member, Executive Director of ATCWA

  • Stephen Hall assumed the role of Executive Director of Adult & Teen Challenge WA in 2020, succeeding Malcolm Smith. He and his wife, Marg, began their journey by overseeing a Children’s Home when they were 21. This develop a great resilience and heart for young people. With extensive experience in youth outreach and community development, Steve served as Senior Pastor at The Kalamunda Church of Christ for over two decades. Committed to community service, he's also involved in the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce. Ordained with the Australian Christian Churches, Steve envisions expanding Adult & Teen Challenge's impact, providing hope and transformation to countless lives. Married since 1981, he and Marg have four children and five grandchildren.
